1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of Origami, a terminal workspace manager, and the website at tryorigami.app. By downloading, installing, or using Origami, you agree to these terms. Origami is operated by Ricardo Bucho, trading as Origami, based in Portugal.

2. The software

Origami is a native application that organises terminals, AI agents, saved commands, and browser tabs into project workspaces. It includes loops that drive AI agents you have installed, a built-in git interface, a board, artifacts, an MCP server for agent integration, and an auto-updater that checks for new versions. The connections it makes to the internet are listed in our Privacy Policy.

3. AI agents and other third-party tools

Origami does not include or provide any AI model. It starts and drives the AI tools you install yourself, such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, opencode, Antigravity, or Grok, signed in with your own accounts. Your use of those tools is governed by their providers' terms, and any usage limits or charges they apply are yours.

Agents run commands and change files on your device with the permissions you give them, including when you choose a mode that lets them act without asking. You are responsible for reviewing what they do and for the permissions you grant. We are not responsible for the output of AI tools, for actions they take, or for the availability of third-party services, websites, or tools that Origami connects to on your behalf.

4. Free tier and subscriptions

Origami is free to use with limits on the number of workspaces and items per workspace. An optional paid subscription ("Origami+") removes these limits and adds additional features. Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. Prices are in euros and exclude applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout based on your location.

Origami+ Enterprise is a subscription bought by an organisation for a number of seats. The person who buys it manages the organisation: they invite members by email, change the number of seats, and can remove members and their devices. By inviting someone, they confirm they are entitled to share that person's email address with us for this purpose.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

If you use Origami through Setapp, your subscription, billing, and cancellation are handled by Setapp under its own terms, and the license keys described below do not apply.

5. License keys and devices

When you subscribe, a license key is generated and sent to your email. This key activates Origami+ features on your devices. Each license supports up to 5 devices. You can manage your devices through a link sent to your registered email.

License keys are personal. You may not share, sell, or redistribute your key. If we detect abuse, we may revoke the license. An Enterprise member's key belongs to their organisation's subscription and ends when the organisation removes them or the subscription ends.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify Origami beyond what is permitted by applicable law. You agree not to use Origami to violate any law or infringe on the rights of others. You agree not to attempt to bypass license restrictions or device limits through technical means.

7. Availability and updates

Origami is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or uninterrupted service. We may release updates, change features, or discontinue the software at any time. The auto-updater will notify you of new versions but will not install them without your consent.

8. Intellectual property

Origami, its name, logo, and all associated materials are the property of Ricardo Bucho. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software. It does not grant ownership of any part of the software.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Origami and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software. This includes but is not limited to data loss, lost profits, interruption of work, or damage caused by commands or changes made by AI agents you run in Origami. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the application. Continued use of Origami after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Portugal. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
