Terms of Service
Last updated: April 8, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Origami, a macOS terminal workspace manager, and the website at tryorigami.app. By downloading, installing, or using Origami, you agree to these terms. Origami is operated by Ricardo Bucho, trading as Origami, based in Portugal.
2. The software
Origami is a native macOS application that organises terminals, AI agents, and saved commands into project workspaces. It includes a built-in git interface, an MCP server for agent integration, and an auto-updater that checks for new versions.
3. Free tier and subscriptions
Origami is free to use with limits on the number of workspaces and items per workspace. An optional paid subscription ("Origami+") removes these limits and adds additional features. Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. Prices are in euros and exclude applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout based on your location.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
4. License keys and devices
When you subscribe, a license key is generated and sent to your email. This key activates Origami+ features on your devices. Each license supports up to 5 devices. You can manage your devices through a link sent to your registered email.
License keys are personal. You may not share, sell, or redistribute your key. If we detect abuse, we may revoke the license.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify Origami beyond what is permitted by applicable law. You agree not to use Origami to violate any law or infringe on the rights of others. You agree not to attempt to bypass license restrictions or device limits through technical means.
6. Availability and updates
Origami is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or uninterrupted service. We may release updates, change features, or discontinue the software at any time. The auto-updater will notify you of new versions but will not install them without your consent.
7. Intellectual property
Origami, its name, logo, and all associated materials are the property of Ricardo Bucho. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software. It does not grant ownership of any part of the software.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Origami and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software. This includes but is not limited to data loss, lost profits, or interruption of work. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the application. Continued use of Origami after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Portugal.
