How it works
- Press ⌘G, or the Git button in the titlebar, which shows how many files changed and the lines added and removed. The view opens on Uncommitted changes.
- Each changed file is a sheet under Unstaged, Untracked or Staged. Press a file to open its diff; a changed picture shows as a picture.
- Stage or Unstage a file, or a whole section with Stage All and Unstage All. Discard throws a change away only after a second press, on Confirm.
- Write a message in the commit bar at the top and press Commit, or Enter. Only staged files are committed.
Good to know
- Shift+Enter starts a new line in the message, and a message you have not sent is kept when you leave the view.
- A file's … menu has Open in Files, Copy file path and Show in folder.
- A folder that is not a repository offers Enable git instead.
- To keep the changes in view beside a tab, add the Changes widget to the Sidetrack from its +. It shows the same uncommitted changes as a folder tree, to read only.
