The way an agent works Origami the way you do, from opening a terminal to answering a review comment.

How it works
- Origami runs an MCP server on your machine while it is open. Through it, an agent can list your workspaces and tabs, open and stop tabs, run a command and read its output, read the git status and diff, write artifacts, work the board, answer review threads, drive a browser tab, show you a file in Files, and read and add to the scratchpad.
- Open Settings › MCP. Under Connect there is a row for each agent you have enabled, with the line that adds Origami to it.
- Press Install on a row to add Origami to that agent. A row says Installed once it is there, and Remove takes it out again.
- If you change the server's Port, the agents already connected point at the old one. Their rows say so and offer Fix.
- Once an agent has called Origami, its row says when it was last used.
Good to know
- Agents stay connected after a restart, but can only reach Origami while it is open.
- You can copy a row's line and run it yourself instead.
- Enable MCP server turns the whole server off.
- Every call an agent makes is recorded in the Agent trail.
- The page lists every tool the server offers, under Tools.
