Agents use it

How it works
- Open Settings, then Loops, and choose New subagent from the Subagents heading's menu.
- Give it a Name, When to use it and its Instructions, then pick what it Runs on: one agent, one of its models and an Effort, or Default for either.
- A loop of that agent runs it as its own, and a loop of any other agent hands the work over to it. Either way it runs in the loop's folder and mode.
- Turning off Allow use of subagents stops every loop's agent starting subagents. Only Origami subagents leaves out the ones Claude Code and GitHub Copilot bring with them.
- The subagents a loop starts are listed, with their state, model, effort and tokens, in the sidetrack's Tasks widget.
Good to know
- A loop's agent can also hand a task to any installed agent, model and effort by itself. The task runs in the background, at most four at once, and its result is handed back once the loop is at rest.
- A task's permissions are asked at the loop's message box.
- Each row shows which agents have it, and its model and effort. An info mark after a name lists what else its file sets.
- Agents can add them through the MCP server.
