Goals

A goal that keeps a loop going, turn after turn, until the agent says it is met.

Where Loop › Message box › /goal 1 min read

How it works

  1. Type /goal followed by what done looks like, and send it. The agent is told to work toward it.
  2. Each time a turn ends, Origami sends the agent on toward the goal, until it says the goal is met, or that it is blocked and needs you.
  3. Goal sits at the top right of the message box with where it stands: Working, Met, Blocked or Paused. Press it to read the goal whole and what the agent last said of it.
  4. Send /goal on its own, or press Clear goal, to let it go.

Good to know

  • After 30 turns the goal is paused. Keep going takes it up again, as it does a blocked one.
  • Only a turn that finished keeps it going: after one you stopped, or one that failed, the next step is yours.
  • The messages Origami sends for you show as a quiet line, Kept going toward the goal.
  • Goals work the same with Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot.
