The window

The rail, the sidebar, the stage and the titlebar, and what each one is for.

How it works

  1. The rail is the narrow column on the left: one tile for each workspace, then a + to add one. Press a tile to go to that workspace, on the tab you left it on. At its foot are the Trail, Usage and the Origami mark, which opens the home page.
  2. The sidebar holds the open workspace's loops, then its tabs in the Agents, Commands, Terminals and Browsers sections. Press the workspace's name at its head for its folder and editor actions. ⌘B collapses it.
  3. The stage is the main area, where the tab you picked runs from edge to edge.
  4. The titlebar says where you are as a path: the workspace, the view, then what is open in it. On its right are the views: Console, Git, Kanban, Artifacts, Settings and the button that opens Sidetrack.
  5. The home page shows when nothing is open: Origami's edition, its version, and a row for each thing it can do, each opening a page about it.

Good to know

  • Views such as Git or Settings turn the sidebar into their own list. Its back button returns to your tabs.
  • When the titlebar is too narrow for a long title, the view buttons fold into one Views menu.
