How it works
- The mode is at the foot of the message box, beside +. There are four, the same for every agent: Ask first asks you for leave, Edit freely changes files without asking, Plan only plans and changes nothing, and Full access never asks.
/planswitches to Plan only. - When the agent needs you, its question sits at the top of the message box. Press a choice, or type its number. Several questions are answered a step at a time and sent together.
- A permission shows what it is for, with Deny, Allow for this session and Allow. Enter allows and Esc denies.
- A plan the agent wants to go ahead with offers Approve and Keep planning.
- Anything you type in the box and send is your answer, in your own words.
Good to know
- What you answered stays in the conversation.
- Allow for this session is offered only where the agent can remember it.
- In Plan only, Codex answers with its plan and does not ask to go ahead.
- The mode you choose is the one the next new loop in that workspace starts in.
