Handoff

Hand a card, your review comments or your annotations to a loop or an agent as a ready-made prompt.

How it works

  1. Open the handoff menu where the work is:
    • a card: Handoff at the top of its page, or right-click the card on the board;
    • review comments: Review at the head of the git view, which hands over all the open threads;
    • annotations: the arrow beside Annotate at the head of an artifact.
  2. Choose Handoff to loop, then New loop or one of the workspace's open loops, or Handoff to agent, then one of the agents running in the workspace.
  3. Origami puts the prompt in that loop's message box, after anything already there, or pastes it into that agent, and takes you to its tab. Nothing is sent: read it, add to it if you like, and send it.
  4. To use an agent outside Origami, choose Copy prompt for agents instead and paste it wherever you like.

Good to know

  • The prompt tells the agent which tools to use to read the work, do it and report back, so the agent needs the MCP server connected.
  • Handoff to agent is held while no agent is running. Start one first, or hand off to a loop.
  • The review menu is off while there are no open threads, and the annotation handoff while the artifact has no annotations.
